Dogs Don’t Bark In Egypt: And That Makes You Special

When the children of God left Egypt to head to the land God had promised Abraham, God told them that not even a dog would bark at them on the way out.

This tells me two things:

1. The children of God are distinct and set apart for unique purposes.

2. There were no terriers in Egypt.

As the children of God we are still distinct. We are set apart for divine purposes. We are chosen, special, royal, redeemed, loved, and so much more.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” I Peter 2:9

We are so loved by God that He gave His only Son to die on our behalf. The relationship we know with our Father is truly amazing. That doesn't mean life will always be easy. All we have to do is follow the journey of God's children when they left Egypt to discover there were still some hardships along the way. Yet, God was always with them, because they were His.

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then you are His as well. Enemies may pursue you, obstacles may come up before you, challenges may arise, but you'll never be on your own. God will never leave you nor forsake you. He promises this in His word.

As for the dog barking, I don't know how the dog's I've had ever could have complied. I do however know that a God who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him for us all will never forget to honor His Word in our lives. He's a good, good, Father!

Following the Son,
