God Chose Your When And Where


"From one man he made every nation of the human race to inhabit the entire earth, determining their set times and the fixed limits of the places where they would live." Acts 17:26.
Think about that. You live when you live because it's when God chose for you to live. You may wish you were a little younger, or a little older. You may wish your birthday was a little farther away from Christmas or some other conflicting date. However, you're the age you are because God set your time. You could have been born 1,000 years ago, but you weren't. This wasn't random, or in any way by chance. You're here now because God wants you here now. If that's not enough, not only did Father choose your time, but He also chose where you would live. You don't live where you live because you found a good deal on an apartment, or because you managed to get a job in your city. God determined your location before your days began. Why would God put so much thought into time and location? Acts 17:27 tells us, "God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us." 
Your neighbors need you. Your coworkers need you. Your family and friends need you. You're a part of a divine plan where you were placed into the lives of others to point them to faith in Christ. God chose you because you're the perfect person for the job.

Where’s the checkbook? I had searched high and low, and hadn’t been able to locate one. We rarely use checks for anything anymore, but I found myself in need of one. “ Children's children are a crown.” Proverbs 17:6 One year ago today my phone rang. I was looking forward to this call. “Hey, Dad. How are you?” “I’m alright.” (Standard response) He wasn’t alright. The cancer, chemo, and treatments had taken such a toll on him. This was Josiah’s birthday though. His first birthday. My Dad always called everyone in the family on their birthday and sang to them. He never missed anyone’s. It wasn’t pretty, and became a comical family joke yet we all looked forward to it.  I called for my son, Nathaniel, who brought his son, Josiah, over to the phone. Christmas Reactions: A Look At The Responses To Jesus' Birth

The reactions of children on Christmas morning can be priceless. The way their faces light up in response to the gifts, decorations, and lights communicates such wonder and awe. I have a grandson who is closing in on two. Sometimes when he sees things he literally gasps. So much of the world is still new to him. Just as I love a child's reaction, I love the reactions in the Christmas story to those who encountered the Christ child. The Bible uses specific words to describe many of the responses to seeing a baby unlike one they'd ever seen before, and the events surrounding his birth. Consider a few with me. Mary, " treasured ."
